Privacy policy
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation. Last reviewed 30 October 2026.
Who we are
PAIN RELIEF Pharmacy (PAIN RELIEF Pharmacy, Unit 4, Kingsway House, 210 Kingsway, London WC2B 6AA) is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our pharmacy team can be contacted on 020 7946 0958 or at care@painrelief.co.uk.
Information we collect
- Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, address, email address and telephone number.
- Health information: your GP practice, the medicines you take, prescriptions issued to you and any allergies or conditions you tell us about.
- Registration and enquiry details you submit through this website.
- Technical information such as your IP address and browser type, collected when you use the site.
Why we use it
We use your information to dispense prescriptions safely, to check for interactions and contraindications, to contact you about your medicines, to deliver prescriptions, to keep the records the law requires of a pharmacy, and to answer your questions.
Our lawful bases are: provision of health care (processing is necessary for the purposes of preventative or occupational medicine and the management of health care systems), performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, and your consent where we ask for it — for example, for prescription reminders by email or text.
Health information and confidentiality
Health information is special category data. We handle it under the common law duty of confidentiality as well as UK GDPR, and we share it only with the healthcare professionals involved in your care — for example your GP or the prescriber who issued your prescription.
Who we share it with
- Your prescriber and GP, where necessary for your care.
- NHS systems such as the Electronic Prescription Service, where you have nominated us.
- Delivery partners, limited to the details needed to deliver your parcel.
- Regulators and the NHS, where we are legally required to provide information.
We never sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Pharmacy records are kept in line with NHS and professional record-retention requirements — generally eight years after the last entry for adults, and until the patient's 25th birthday for children. Enquiries that do not lead to care are kept for up to two years.
Your rights
You have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to erasure in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us at care@painrelief.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before that point, nor records we must keep by law.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep the site working. Any optional analytics are used only in aggregate to understand how the site is used, and are not used to build a profile of your health.
Security
Access to patient records is restricted to pharmacy staff who need it. We use access controls, encryption in transit and audit trails, and we train our team annually on confidentiality and information security.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy annually and whenever our processing changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last reviewed.
